Young Adult Retreat
wHAT IS aNCHORED?
Anchored is about you meeting with Jesus. Let’s be honest, we’re busy. Our days are full and we are constantly running from one thing to the next. We long to make a difference, to not be just another drone punching the clock, but sometimes it seems like an inescapable reality. But is it? Do you have to settle for what HGTV, Instagram, CNN/FOX, or even our friends and family tell us we should be?
Anchored is for those who want something more, something better.
Jesus is the MORE, the BETTER.
MORE & BETTER
By giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God’s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted. There is no other Message—just this one.
Join us as we come back to the Message- as we seek to live anchored to Jesus by faith, hope, and love.
But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will sing to our God and King for he is worthy of praise.
Joining our voices together in song. Proclaiming with passion our adoration of the great I AM.
We will dive deep into the Word of God. We believe there is great joy and power in communing with God by studying and meditating on what he has said.
Whatever the rhythms of your life, we want to provide you with not only time to pray during the retreat, we want to help you have a view of prayer that will change your life. If it feels like a duty and you pray “because you should,” let us show you a different way.
Bring your favorite card, board or party game- on Friday night, we will have a giant game night! In addition, the gymnasium will be open for basketball, volleyball and other activities as well.
Food. Our bodies need it- but it’s also delicious! We will gather around the table to eat and enjoy each others’ company. The coffee and tea will flow freely around the clock and the snacks will be nearly as frequent as meals.
Stagnation. What a gross word. We believe that personal growth happens best in community and with intentional choices we make. Come get connected to others who take Jesus seriously and want to grow in their love of him and others.
